Directions
After reading the first four chapters in the textbook, apply what you have learned to the following scenario.
Decide whether the controversy surrounding the Sony Pictures film The Interview was or was not a form of terrorism and defend your answer with three references from the course textbook. Your argument MUST reference at least one definition of terrorism discussed in the course textbook. You MUST back up your argument with three references from the course textbook and include the page numbers where you found that information.
Because I want you to post your original thoughts and impressions, you won’t be able to see what other classmates have written until you post your first comment. Keep in mind that this is not about giving the “right answer.”
When you come back to post again this unit, strive to engage with other students who may not have agreed with your conclusion.
Make your initial post by 11:59 PM Thursday and reply to at least two classmates by 11:59 PM Sunday.
ULOs Reflected In Discussion
- Define terrorism (CLO 2 and CLO 3)
- Synthesize how political science, communication, and other fields of study may be used to better understand the relationship between terrorism and the media. (CLO 5)
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE NOT BEING ASKED TO GO OUT ON THE INTERNET AND FIND INFORMATION TO SUPPORT YOUR THINKING. YOU ARE BEING ASKED TO CONSIDER THE MATERIALS PROVIDED IN THE DISCUSSION, THINK FOR YOURSELVES, POST YOUR OWN THOUGHTS, AND CONVERSE WITH YOUR PROFESSOR AND CLASS PEERS.
